The art of veneering goes back at least 4000 years to the ancient Egyptians. It is literally the art of coaxing the beauty from within a tree. The Dynamicx Exotic Veneered drums continue this tradition by displaying a vast array of the world's most interesting veneers.
There is no "standard" Dynamicx DXV drum. Each drum is strikingly unique because each veneer is unique. Some of our more popular examples are shown to the right. If you do not see something that interests you, you can browse our Veneer Samples and call or email Eric with your idea.

"I personally choose and purchase each veneer that I apply to a shell. I'm usually aiming for something unique or a look that I know will be really special. Sometimes certain figures lend themselves to my 180° bookmatch designs, or I see a piece where the grain will really pop when we put on our glass smooth polyester gloss finish." - Eric
All the veneers are applied with the vacuum bag method. This exerts a uniform clamping force of approximately 1700 pounds per square foot. No voids, no bubbles, and no loss of resonance. Our vacuum veneered shells are just as resonant and lively as the un-veneered shell the veneer was applied to.
